英語專業開設在大學三年級的《英語視聽說》課程是一、二年級的英語聽力課和英語口語課的結合與延續。本課程利用多媒體和語言實驗室的聲頻和功能,使學生通過觀看內容貼近生活的情景會話和真實的視聽素材,接觸地道的、“原汁原味”的英語。教師在課堂中可循序漸進地對學生進行語言交際技能的訓練,提高學生的英語口語交際能力。以外語教學與研究出版社出版的《大學英語視聽說教程》為例,該教材的內容構成主要是情景會話和與之余褲宏相關的背景文化短篇,基本上都是日常生活的話題和場景。在教學過程中,教師可先讓學生觀看視聽材料進行語言輸入,教師進行語言點講豎冊解和相應的文化背景知識介紹,要求學生完成聽力理解題和聽寫填空題,以檢測學生對視聽內容的理解程度。學生掌握視聽內容后,教師可組織學生就所學的語言、話題或相應情景進行口語交際練習,即語言輸出。形式可以是根據所給定的情景分組進行對話練習,或就某話題、觀點進行討論或辯論。此時學生是主體,教師不要過多干預。而對語音方面的問題,可通過練習發音、單詞、繞口令、詩歌以及歌曲等純指形式,進行語音語調的訓練。
